Privacy statement CLIC Creations
What are the 'legal grounds' for using your data?
Under privacy law, we must state our legal grounds for using your data. We need your data because of the contractual agreements between you and CLIC Creations BV, such as your purchase of a product or your warranty rights. This applies to:
- Order & pre-order
- Delivery
- Returns & repairs
- Trade-in
- Contact our customer service
We may also use your data for legitimate interest purposes. This means we want to provide all our customers with the most optimal, personalized service. We always consider your privacy. This applies to:
- Reviews & customer satisfaction survey
- Contact our customer service
- Visit the CLIC by Suzanne website
- Account
- Newsletter & email
- Personal advice
- Actions
- Social media
- Security, Wi-Fi & cameras
- The CLIC Creations BV app
- Personalized advertisements within other media
We may also have a legal obligation to use your data, for example, if we suspect fraud. And sometimes you've given us permission to use your data, such as when you sign up for our newsletter. We keep track of this.
Who has access to your data?
We only share your data with other parties if it's absolutely necessary for our services. These parties include: delivery partners, suppliers or repairers, product support, payment partners, trade information agencies, IT service providers, and parties that collect our reviews. After all, our delivery partner must deliver your order to the correct address. Parties such as data management platforms, media and advertising agencies, and research firms come into play when we want to offer you personalized advice or show you targeted advertisements, for example, based on your interest in certain products. In suspicious situations, we are obligated to share customer data with government agencies.
The parties we grant access to your data may only use it to provide you with a service on behalf of CLIC Creations BV, unless they are themselves responsible for obtaining and protecting your data. Some cookie developers have access to the data collected by cookies on our website. You can read more about this in our cookie statement and the privacy policies of these parties. We never sell your data to third parties.
Where is your data stored?
We store your data in various databases. We always apply strict security measures. East, west, home's best: that's why your data is almost always stored within the European Union. In the exceptional case that customer data is transferred to countries outside the European Union, we ensure that your privacy remains appropriately protected. This has been officially established for several countries.
Learn more about the European Commission's data protection law.
How long do we retain your data?
We don't store or use your data longer than necessary. After that, we delete all data we have about you. Or we use your data anonymously, because we need certain data for internal analyses and reporting, such as the value of your order.
Sounds simple enough, but how does it work in practice? We adhere to certain time limits, after which we delete your data. These are:
- We delete inactive customer accounts after 7 years. After that period, we only use your data anonymously for internal reporting.
- The Dutch Tax and Customs Administration requires us to keep our records containing your invoice, payment, and order information for seven years. After that, we only use anonymized data for internal reporting. You are also responsible for keeping your purchase invoices, in case your warranty expires, for example.
- If you have your product repaired or replaced by CLIC Creations BV, we will retain your report and contact information for 7 years. After that, we will only use your information anonymously for internal reporting purposes.
- If you've subscribed to our newsletter or given permission to receive personalized messages, we'll retain that permission. Even if you decide at any time that you no longer wish to receive the newsletter or personalized messages, we'll retain your withdrawal request. We don't store emails you receive from us for longer than 60 days. So you don't need to worry about receiving the same email from us repeatedly. After that period, we'll only use your data anonymously for internal reporting purposes.
- We retain data we use to prevent fraud for a very long time. It's not fun, but it's necessary.
What are your rights?
Of course, you remain in control of your data. Would you like to access your personal data free of charge and receive a copy? Or would you like to change, delete, limit the use of your data, or adjust your email preferences? Let us know by mail or email. This way, you can also object to the use of your data for marketing purposes, indicating that you believe your privacy outweighs our interests. In that case, we will review the situation. Would you like us to transfer your data to another party? That's also possible. Send your request by mail or email, and we'll take care of it.
Unsubscribing from the newsletter is a breeze. You can do so via the link at the bottom of the newsletter itself. And if you no longer want cookies, you can do that yourself. Read our cookie statement to learn how.
We want to be sure you are truly you. Therefore, we may ask you for additional information to verify your identity. We will do this even if your request is unclear.
